Klinger Invest for the Future
The investment, in the latest precision cutting technology and testing facilities at the firm’s Bradford manufacturing facility and service centres in Middlesbrough and Aberdeen, is designed to ensure Klinger remain at the forefront of metallic and non-metallic gasket production.
Ten new engineering, technical support and customer service jobs will be created as a result of the investment and Klinger aims to further strengthen its position in the Oil and Gas industry and continue its expansion in the Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, Food and Nuclear sectors.
The latest investment includes the installation of the highly regarded JJENCO Flange Assembly Demonstration Unit (FADU) to add to Klinger’s comprehensive test centre.
The FADU allows Klinger to demonstrate the factors affecting the torque-preload relationship such as lubrication, torque wrench accuracy and stress relaxation. It also enables the industrial gasket specialist to view the effects of correct and incorrect gasket installation techniques, and monitor gasket compression in real time.
The FADU’s extensive and accurate user interface visually illustrates the reaction between gasket, flange and bolts making it an excellent tool to facilitate training as well as showing how poor installation causes the majority of gasket failures.
The addition of the FADU is a great environmental benefit as more fitters become highly trained in installing gaskets. Also the analysed data of the stress and gasket compression rate allows Klinger to develop and improve the products benefiting the customers and the environment with increased performance and improved leak tightness.
The additional test rig keeps Klinger at the forefront of gasket technology and gives its partners and clients valued technical knowledge with the peace of mind that it’s backed by hard data and years of industrial experience. Klinger continuously look at techniques and equipment for improving its products and sealing procedures, as well as conducting research and development into the future of sealing technology.
